This sassy snake has been given the title of 8th most venomous in 'the world'.
They inhabit two specific locations, a range in Queensland from Mossman to Tully and a range in New South Wales from the Central Coast to Frazer Island.
Often mistaken for significantly less venomous Keelback, Rough-scales are quite defensive and are very willing to bite if threatened.
They have toxic venom, which includes coagulant and neurotoxic properties. So not a species you want to get tagged by.
